The FM Firestop Exam is a 100+ question, 2-hour 45-minute exam, while the UL-ULC Firestop Exam is a 125+ question, 3-hour exam. Both evaluate an individual’s demonstrated knowledge of the firestop industry. Areas assessed include the individual’s comprehension of the FM 4991 Approval Standard for Firestop Contractors or the UL-ULC Qualified Firestop Contractor Program requirements and the FCIA Firestop Manual of Practice*, as well as general firestop product knowledge, including firestop industry protocols, system selection and analysis, firestop inspection, and more.
