The FM Firestop Exam is a 100+ question, 2-hour 45-minute exam, while the UL Firestop Exam is a 100 question, 3-hour exam. Both evaluate an individual’s demonstrated knowledge of the firestop industry. Areas assessed include the individual’s comprehension of the FM 4991 Approval Standard for Firestop Contractors or the UL Solutions Qualified Firestop Contractor Program requirements and the FCIA Firestop Manual of Practice*, as well as general firestop product knowledge, including firestop industry protocols, system selection and analysis, firestop inspection, and more.
