The FCIA's mission is for member organizations to be recognized throughout the construction industry as preferred quality contractors of life safety firestop systems. FCIA Member Contractors are committed to providing consistent, high quality firestop systems as a critical part of Effective Compartmentation.

Through active participation in the FCIA and related forums, members contribute to the advancement of the firestop and compartmentation industry and maintain exceptional knowledge of this specialized service.

07/01/10: FCIA has worked at IAPMO, ANSI, to resolve a code issue for firestopping.  Both ANSI, and IAPMO ruled in Formal Interpretations that a journeyman plumber is not required for firestopping around piping.

6/04/10: Join FCIA and attend the FCIA Firestop Education Class before the UL Firestop Exam for FM & UL DRI's. UL's Firestop Exam is July 22 in Melville, NY. Check it out on FCIA's Events Page.

5/25/10: Big News!  At the ICC Final Action Hearings last week, S127 & S128 were approved.  ASTM E 2174 & 2393 Inspection will be required in the IBC 2012 for Category III and IV Buildings, and Buildings 75' and higher above lowest vehicle access. Well done to Bill Koffel & FCIA's Code Committee for fire and life safety.

5/12/10: FCIA's Education and Comittee Action Conference was a big success. Presentations to be loaded to FCIA.org in early July.

4/16/10: FCIA's Leadership attended ASTM, ASSE, meetings this week.
