07-84-00 Specification

The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) practice of 'say it once, refer over when needed', makes sense to FCIA Members.  Therefore, this FCIA Specification covers all types of firestopping; Penetrations, Joints and Perimeter Fire Containment, rather than breaking it into repetitive partial specs.

Firestopping is it's own section in 07-84-00, and should therefore not be in the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, communications or other sections of the Specifications for a structure.  Even projects that only focus on the penetrating items are recommended to use the 07-84-00 Specification as the basis for projects, to be edited to fit individual buidling needs.

As a resource to Specifiers and others, feel free to download FCIA's suggested 07-84-00 Specification.

The Specification is from the FCIA Firestop Manual of Practice, Appendix H," and is updated periodically.
